چکیده

In this paper, we propose a downlink intelligent reflecting surface (IRS) aided non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) for millimeter-wave (mmWave) massive MIMO with lens antenna array, i.e., IRS-aided mmWave beamspace NOMA, where the single-antenna users without direct-link but connected to base station (BS) aid of IRS are grouped as one NOMA group. Considering power leakage problem in channel and per-antenna constraint, two multi-beam selection strategies BS-IRS link under models, 2-dimension (2D) model 3-dimension (3D) model, respectively, corresponding RF chain configuration designed, respectively. Then, formulate solve optimization maximizing weighted sum rate by jointly optimizing active beamforming at BS passive IRS, alternating (AO) method above joint problem. Especially, different from stochastic method, based on beam-splitting technique, initialize feasible solution proposed AO conditional transmit minimization is formulated solved. Through simulations, performance verified.

Multi-User Millimeter Wave MIMO with Full-Dimensional Lens Antenna Array

Millimeter wave (mmWave) communication by utilizing lens antenna arrays is a promising technique for realizing cost-effective 5G wireless systems with large MIMO (multiple-input multiple-output) but only limited radio frequency (RF) chains. This paper studies an uplink multi-user mmWave single-sided lens MIMO system, where only the base station (BS) is equipped with a full-dimensional (FD) lens...

Low RF-Complexity Technologies for Millimeter-Wave/Terahertz MIMO with Large Antenna Array

Millimeter-wave (mmWave) MIMO with large antenna array has attracted considerable interests from academic and industry, as it can simultaneously provide wider bandwidth and higher spectrum efficiency. However, with hundreds of antennas employed at mmWave frequencies, the number of radio frequency (RF) chains required by mmWave MIMO is also huge, leading to unaffordable hardware cost and energy ...

Codebook Design for Channel Feedback in Lens-Based Millimeter-Wave Massive MIMO Systems

The number of radio frequency (RF) chains can be reduced through beam selection in lens-based millimeter-wave (mmWave) massive MIMO systems, where the equivalent channel between RF chains and multiple users is required at the BS to achieve the multi-user multiplexing gain. However, to the best of our knowledge, there is no dedicated codebook for the equivalent channel feedback in such systems. ...

GMD-Based Hybrid Precoding For Millimeter-Wave Massive MIMO Systems

Hybrid precoding can significantly reduce the number of required radio frequency (RF) chains and relieve the huge energy consumption in mmWave massive MIMO systems, thus attracting much interests from academic and industry. However, most existing hybrid precoding schemes are based on singular value decomposition (SVD). Due to the very different subchannel signal-to-noise ratios (SNRs) after SVD...
